The American Heritage Girls Program enables a girl to grow in her FAITH, cultivate a heart for SERVICE, and have FUN making friends!
Troop CA2911
Our troop typically meets on Monday evenings (September-May) at Calvary Chapel Oxnard in Oxnard, CA. Protestant and Catholic Christians are welcome. Please refer to the AHG Statement of Faith, Oath and Creed before applying for membership.
The AHG Program is built on six emphases, centered on Christ, to build women of integrity. Learn more
PARENT RESPONSIBILITY
Parents/guardians demonstrate commitment to the girls by encouraging them and supporting them throughout their years in AHG. Girls should arrive at meetings and events on time, in the appropriate uniform and with the necessary handbooks or supplies. Parents are responsible for being active volunteers and monitoring e-mail communication regularly.
Registering Girls and Adults
Registration opens twice a year and we host special visitor nights. The rest of the year our troop meetings are closed to non-members. Registration involves a meet n' greet, online application, and troop paperwork. Following the initial meeting, applicants will receive an invitation via email from the Troop Registrar. We require at least one parent/guardian to register as a member and volunteer during or outside troop meetings. Adults must complete a background check and child safety training.
Parent Volunteers
AHG is a family-supported program that encourages both girl and adult involvement. Our Troop will benefit most when utilizing the gifts and strengths from all members. We recognize everyone has different gifts and talents. An AHG Troop Board Member would like to connect with you to learn more about your gifts and strengths, and how you might use them within the Troop to grow God’s Kingdom.
As an Adult Member of AHG you can:
- Serve in the Troop impacting the lives of girls for Christ
- Connect with other like-minded volunteers
- Receive AHG’s Heritage Headlines magazine and bi-weekly email that includes program information and opportunities for girls
- Attend AHG Leadership Conferences, Conventions and AHG Equip Live! events
- Have access to:
- Resources in AHGfamily
- Special Member-only discounts such as American Red Cross, Family Life, Camping Maxx, Great Wolf Lodge and Passport2Purity
PROGRAM LEVELS
Troop CA2911 offers all five program levels for ages 5-18, assuming we have all adult volunteer positions filled. In order to provide a quality experience, each unit is capped at 12 girls. Returning families get priority registration in the summer. If a unit level is full, you can ask to be put on the waiting list. Learn more
What kind of things do we do?
Our troop strives to provide a balanced and progressive program, which means we offer activities and events that target each of the six program emphases and the badges and outdoor activities get progressively more challenging and fun as the girls age up in the program.
